Crossing into the Electric Magnetic, 2022 – September 1 - 14
Crossing into the Electric Magnetic is a two-week workshop in experimental electronic music production and practice taking place at the AqTushetii artist residency, Tusheti, Georgia. Combining theoretical, technical, conceptual, hands-on, and unorthodox exercises and methods, facilitators Olle Holmberg, Sandro Chinchaladze, and Scott McCulloch will guide the sessions for sound makers and enthusiasts working in both digital and analogue media. The workshop encompasses sound studies and philosophy, field recording, mixing and mastering, alternate tuning systems, and tape collage [tape loop cutting / reel-to-reel manipulation / musique concrete]. In the final session, participants are required to present a finished or unfinished composition that explores the approaches and techniques investigated throughout the workshop. This will culminate in a collaborative release (either cassette, CDR or digital) of the sounds made on site.

450 EUR
Price includes: Transportation Tbilisi-Omalo-Tbilisi, Accommodation (in capsule dormitories), light breakfast and two large meals per day, all materials for workshop.
